CYPRUS: President Anastasiades to pay official visit to Slovenia

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will pay a two-day official visit to Slovenia on Wednesday, during which he will meet his Slovenia counterpart Borut Pahor.


The two countries are also expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral relations.

Anastasiades departed Tuesday for Slovenia accompanied by his wife, Andri Anastasiades, Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides, government spokesman Prodromos Prodromou and Undersecretary to the President Vasilis Palmas.

In Ljubljana, President Anastasiades will be officially welcomed by President Pahor, the two leaders will have a tête-à-tête meeting, followed by consultations with the participation of both delegations.

Anastasiades will also meet the country’s Prime Minister Marjan Šarec and attend an official dinner in his honour.

On the sidelines of the visit, Christodoulides will have talks with his Slovenian counterpart Miro Cerar. President Anastasiades returns to Cyprus on January 10.
