DEFENCE: Cyprus and Israeli armed forces conduct joint military exercise

The Armed Forces Cyprus and of Israel began a three-day joint military exercise on Monday as part of their annual defence cooperation programme.


The large-scale exercise over the land and sea area of Cyprus will last until 19 December.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the exercise is conducted within the Nicosia FIR and in a large part of the land area of the Republic.

Troops and equipment of National Guard will be deployed as well as various types of Israeli Air Force aircraft such as fighter jets, will take part in the exercise.

Some of the Israeli aircraft war planes may be flying low in some areas, said the Cyprus Defence Ministry.
