CYPRUS: Tourism revenue rises to EUR 86 mln in March

Tourism revenue rose to EUR 86.1 mln in March, from 80.9 mln in the year earlier month, an increase of 6.4%, on the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.


 
The first three months of the year, all presented an upward trend in revenue. According to the figures, March saw a doubling of revenue compared to February.
For the January – March period, revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR 168.1 mln compared to EUR 147.6 mln in the corresponding period of 2016, an increase of 13.9%.
The increase is mainly attributed to the rise of revenue in the months of January and February, by 28.8% and 24.6%, respectively.
