CYPRUS: Building permits up in January

The number of building permits approved by municipal authorities and the district offices in January rose to 465 from 356 in January last year, the Statistical Service Cystat said.

 
This is an indication of the climate in the construction sector in general, the service said.
The total value of the permits was EUR 108.4 mln and the total area covered 88,400 sq.m., up from EUR 73 mln and 69,300 sq.m. in the same month last year. The permits in question were for 381 residential units compared to 243 in January 2016.
