Cobalt Aero, the privately-owned Cypriot airline that launched last summer with teething problems and rapid executive changes, seems to be on track for the 2017 season with new aircraft and new destinations.

It took delivery of its fourth Airbus A320 and expects to have a fifth one by the end of February.
The new routes include Brussels, Tel Aviv and Tehran.
It’s February offer “starting from EUR 39.00” seems to have sold well, boosting airline revenues at a time when it has become uncompetitive or is competing on an equal footing with other established low-cost carriers (Norwegian, Blue Air, etc.)
Meanwhile, Phileleftheros quoted the airline’s chairman Gregoris Diakos as saying that the company is considering using Paphos as its second hub, initially for the summer season, and perhaps extending into the winter season as well with all-year scheduled flights.
