Most vessels registered under the Cyprus flag are under ten years of age, with the four vessels with a tonnage between 120,000 and 129,999 tons under 5 years old and the two largest of a tonnage of over 150,000 tons under ten years.


 
Only 10% of all the vessels were more than 30 years old.
According to data of the Department of Merchant Shipping as of 31 December 2015 a total of 1,704 vessels were registered in Cyprus, of which 732 were under 5 years old, 282, between 5 and 9, 225 between 10 and 14, 120 between 15 and 19, 103 between 20 and 24 years of age, 78 between 25 and 29 while 164 are over 30 years old.
Also, 127 of the 164 vessels over 30 years of age are of a tonnage of under 1,000 tons.
According to the data 492 vessels are of up to 99 tons, 154 are 100 to 499 tons, 34 are 500 to 99 tons, 29 are 1,000-1,599 tons, 31 are 1,600-1,999 tons, 154 are 2,000-3,999 tons, 101 are 4,000-5,999 tons, 37 are 6,000-6,999 tons, 42 are 7,000-7,999 tons, 52 are 8,000-9,999 tons, 57 are 10,000-14,999 tons, 111 are 15,000-19,999 tons, 134 are 20,000-29,999 tons, 88 are 30,000-39,999 tons, 89 are 40,000-49,999 tons, 25 are 50,000-59,999 tons, 24 are 60,000-69,999 tons, 7 are 70,000-79,999 tons, 18 are 80,000-89,999 tons, 11 are 90,000-99,999 tons, 8 are 100,000-119,999 tons, four are 120,000-129,999 tons and two are over 150,000 tons.
