Cyprus Shipping Council Vice President Philippos Philis has been re-elected to the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) Board of Directors, as the representative of the Cyprus shipping industry.

ICS held its annual general meeting in Tokyo on June 2-3 attracting a large number of shipowners and shipmanagers’ associations from all over the world.
Philis and CSC Director General Thomas Kazakos attended the meeting where Philis was re-elected, “thus showing the high recognition the Cyprus Shipping Chamber is enjoying among the international shipping community,” a press release issued by CSC said.
The main topics of discussion at the ICS AGM included measures to be taken by the international shipping industry to reduce even further the amounts of greenhouse gas emissions, ballast water management and the humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean Sea.
