"Blue Career 2015", a two-day event which aims to raise awareness amongst the younger generation for jobs in the marine and maritime industry, including oil and gas, will be held on Thursday at newly established Maritime Academy (Intercollege building), in Larnaca and on Friday at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol.
This the third annual event and is being co-organised by the Cyprus Shortsea Promotion Centre (www.shortsea.org.cy ), the Cyprus University of Technology, the Maritime Institute of Eastern Mediterranean (www.marinem.org ) and the Cyprus Maritime Academy.
This year’s event will see participants from secondary schools, universities, unemployed graduates and other professionals and includes presentations by experts from both the private and public sectors. The guest speakers will also highlight the specific qualifications required for each discipline, what their duties and responsibilities will be, as well as their future employment opportunities and career development.
The events will be held in Greek and entrance will be free.
