This year’s KEANITA competition concluded in July, with a memorable educational trip for the young winners. The ecological competition, within the framework of the program “KEANITA Thinks Green”, takes place every two years in collaboration with TetraPak and the Ministry of Education and Culture, with the aim to create awareness among children about the environment and forestry, through interactive and fun activities.

The four young winners, escorted by their guardians, had the opportunity to travel to Malmo, Sweden and visit the TetraPak factory. During their visit, they were introduced to the life cycle of paper and learnt the principles of FCS – Forest Stewart Council for responsible forestry practices. The four-day trip also included other interesting activities, such as visits to museums in Sweden and Denmark and to Copenhagen’s Aquarium. On the last day, the KEANITA team had a very entertaining full day visit to Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The team leader and KEANITA Brand Manager, Maria Odysseos, stated: “It was very gratifying to witness the excitement, interest and learning skills of the children throughout this educational trip. Our four winners watched closely the procedures at the TetraPak factory, absorbing all information like sponges. KEAN cares for children and initiates ecological programs which offer them knowledge always combined with creativity and fun.”

For this year’s competition, entitled “My tree, my little tree, my beautiful diary”, the KEANITA Team visited schools where children watched a brief educational film about the life cycle of paper and paper packaging. and were introduced to a drawing competition with the topic “The life of a tree in the four seasons”. The winner drawings will be printed in a 2016 diary.
