MARKETS: ‘Greek Day’ on the NYSE

Within the context of the 16th Annual Capital Link Invest in Greece Forum, the New York Stock Exchange and Capital Link organised a special ceremony in honour of Greece entitled “Greek Day at NYSE”.


The NYSE board hosted held an official reception in honour of the Greek delegation, Greek companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange and companies that participated in the forum, including three government ministers.
Ringing the closing bell on Tuesday, December 2, was Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, Minister of Shipping, Maritime Affairs and the Aegean, who was accompanied by Christos Staikouras, Alternate Minister of Finance, Asimakis Papageorgiou, Deputy Minister – Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Ambassador Christos Panagopoulos, George Iliopoulos, Consul General of Greece in New York City, Paschalis Bouchoris, CEO of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund’s (HRADF) and Aris Syngros, Chairman of Enterprise Greece.
The Greek-owned and NYSE listed companies were representated by George Zanias, Chairman, National Bank of Greece; Nick Tavlarios, President of Aegean Marine Petroleum Network; John Coustas, President and CEO and Iraklis Prokopakis, COO of Danaos Shipping: Anastasios Margaronis, President, Ioannis Zafirakis, COO and Andreas Michalopoulos, CFO of Diana Shipping / Diana Containers; Ted Petrone, President of Navios Group NM; Paul Durham, CFO and Harry Kosmatos, Senior Manager – Corporate Development of Tsakos Energy Navigation; and, Tasos Aslides, CFO of US-listed Euroseas.
The NYSE, other US exchanges and the Securities and Exchange Commission are considered as major sources of capital for the growing number of Greek interest companies.
