CYPRUS: Romania inaugurates Honorary Consulate in Limassol

The official inauguration of the Honorary Consulate of Romania took place in Limassol, with its constituency for Limassol and Paphos headed by Marios Klitou, CEO of Baker Tilly in Cyprus.


The ceremony was held in the presence of the State Secretary for European Affairs of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, George Ciamba, who was on an official visit to Cyprus for political consultations with the Foreign Ministry in Nicosia.
The main task of the Honorary Consul is to represent Romania’s interests in the economic, commercial, cultural and scientific fields, to promote the history and culture of the Romanian people and to promote the friendly relations between Romania and the Republic of Cyprus.
Welcoming the participants, the Romanian Ambassador, Ion Pascu, referred to the importance his government attaches to the further strengthening of the close ties and fruitful cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus, a country with which Romania shares common values and joint vision for the future.
Addressing the audience, State Secretary George Ciamba expressed his confidence that Marios Klitou will promote Romania’s interests in Cyprus with dedication and competence and will be successful in his mission to developing the mutually rewarding partnership between the two countries.
Klitou stated that he is committed to contribute to the further development of the traditional good relations that exist between Cyprus and Romania.
