Total sales of petroleum products for the first five months of the year declined 5.8% year on year, according to figures released by the Cyprus Statistical Service.
However, total sales of petroleum products in May alone rose by 6.0% compared with April. Provisions in aviation kerosene (due to increase of tourist flights) and gasoil for marine use, as well as in the sales of asphalt, light fuel oil, gasoil low sulphur and motor gasoline increased. A decline was observed in the sales of kerosene, gasoil, heavy fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gases, all of which related mostly to heating.
Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of the month declined 3.3% compared to the previous month.
