Yiorgos Ierodiaconou, General Manager of Ph. Photiades Breweries, makers of the first Carlsberg beer outside Denmark since the 1960s, has been short-listed for the European Quality Leader 2013 award of the European Quality Organisation (EOQ) which will take in Goteburg, Sweden, next week.

Ierodiaconou was proposed as the island’s candidate by the Cyprus Association for Quality (CyAQ) and his selection as one of the top five candidates for the award “upgrades the image of Cyprus industry among the giants of the rest of Europe,” an announcement said.
The Quality Leader award is an annual event organized by the EOQ from among 33 national representatives across Europe.
Ph. Photiades Breweries has been producing Carlsberg beer since 1963 and the local-brand Leon.
