A Cypriot Film presented in the Annual International Film Festival

The Cypriot film “Dinner with my sisters”, directed by Michael Hapeshis, presented in the Annual International Film Festival of the EU in Toronto, which concluded on November 27, 2013.

According to an official announcement, the film was characterized as a modern and high-quality product with interesting plot. The film is a contemporary psychological drama of a Greek-Cypriot family in crisis, due to the return of an expatriate member after 30 years. The film, among other, promotes the natural beauty and architecture of Cyprus.

The Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Toronto Kirakossian James, speaking during the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival, stressed the great importance of the festival for the promotion of the EU film culture EU in Canada. He also stressed that the EU Film Festival promotes the culture of each Member State and at the same time, the spirit of cooperation between the EU Member States.

The Cypriot film was also broadcasted with great success in the EU Film Festival that takes place every November in Ottawa and Vancouver.
