Cyprus Government getting ready for Troika’s second review mission

The government is currently intensively working to get prepared for the second evaluation of the Cyprus economy, following the signing of the bailout memorandum, Deputy Government Spokesman Victoras Papadopoulos has noted, asked what the government expects from the visit of the Troika to Cyprus late October.

Papadopoulos noted that the government hopes that Cyprus’ second bailout assessment will be positive as the first one.
Excluded from international markets since May 2011, Cyprus requested and received a €10 billion financial assistance package from the Troika (EC, ECB, IMF). The package featured a sizeable reduction of the island’s banking sector, as well as bail-in of uninsured deposits, which hampered the services sector, one of the island’s main source of income.
