The Ministry of Communications and Works is focusing efforts on opening air links with countries like Kazakhstan, China and Arab Gulf states, Minister Tasos Mitsopoulos has said.

The aim, he pointed out, is to further support and strengthen Cyprus’ tourist product.

He also said that a second objective is to achieve the liberalization of flights from Russian cities like Moscow and St Petersburg.

“I hope that our efforts will bear fruit” he said, adding that the Ministry concentrates its efforts on other markets as well.

The Ministry, he said, is focusing on countries like Kazakhstan, China and countries in the Arab Gulf with an aim to open air links with those countries or to strengthen existing air connections in an attempt to support Cyprus’ tourist product.
