UK travel company with packages to Cyprus collapses

North London’s Travel Click Ltd has ceased trading with immediate effect, according to a British Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) statement, in what is described as the first significant travel company closure of the summer in the UK.

The company had been offering luxury holidays as well as no-frills flights together with discounted accommodation to Cyprus for the past five years. Its luxury packages also covered Greece, Dubai, Las Vegas, Florida and some other destinations, while the low cost options concerned Mediterranean resorts. Some of the company’s offers were promoted to UK customers through popular travel websites.

Travel Click’s customers who had booked inclusive packages are covered by CAA’s compensation guarantee scheme, but those who had booked only the flights or the accommodation will have to consult the relevant UK authorities.

Tourists who are already abroad will be able to see through the rest of their package, although they may have to accept alternative return flight arrangements.
