Cyprus House President and delegation in Moscow on official visit

President of the House of Representatives Yiannakis Omirou and a parliamentary party delegation arrived today in Moscow for a two-day official visit, at the invitation of the Chairman of the State Duma, Sergey Naryshkin.

Omirou and the delegation were welcomed at the airport by the Chairman of the Russia-Cyprus Friendship Group at the Duma, Adnan Muzykaev and the Cypriot Ambassador in Moscow Petros Kestoras.

In the afternoon, Omirou and the delegation will have a meeting with the Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak.

The delegation comprises MPs Lefteris Christoforou, Deputy President of the ruling Democratic Rally, Nikos Katsourides, Parliamentary Representative of main opposition left wing AKEL party, Neophytos Constantinou, Parliamentary Representative of the co-ruling Democratic Party, George Barnabas, Vice President of the Social-democrats’ Movement EDEK, Dimitris Syllouris, President of the European Party and George Perdikes General Secretary of the Cyprus Green Party.
