Croatia is foreseen to join the EU on 1 July

Participation of the campaign “Croatia in the EU – Growing Together” at the event “European Year of Citizens”

In the context of the upcoming accession of Croatia to the EU, representatives from the “Croatia in the EU – Growing Together” campaign supported by the Directorate General for Enlargement of the European Commission, participated at the event “EUROPEAN YEAR OF CITIZENS; IT'S ABOUT YOU” on Saturday 18 May at Phaneromeni square in old Nicosia.

Hundreds of citizens, including MEP Eleni Theocharous, visited the campaign’s booth at the event, where they were informed about the upcoming accession of Croatia. Croatia is foreseen to join the EU on 1 July, thus becoming its 28th Member State.

The event included a bazaar, musical and dance performances and a students’ debate with Cypriot MEPs and was organised by the European Commission Representation in Cyprus, the European Parliament Information Office, the Press and Information Office and the Municipality of Nicosia.
