Eurogroup to give the green light for first tranche of the Cypriot programme

The Euro area Finance Ministers meet today in Brussels to discuss and approve the first tranche of the €10 billion financial assistance programme to Cyprus, amounting to 3 billion.

The funds will be disbursed in two parts, €2 billion in mid May and €1 billion by the end of June.

The Euro area Finance Ministers will also discuss the findings of an independent evaluation carried out by the Council of Europe`s Moneyval and audit firm Deloitte Italy on Cyprus` anti-money laundering practices.
