Cyprus: building permit values up in Nov

The number of building permits authorised by municipal authorities and district administration offices fell by 7.8% over the year earlier in November 2012 to 554.
The total area authorised fell by 6.5% to 143,8 thousand square metres
However, the total value of these permits rose by 2.2% to EUR 148.3 mln.
These building permits provide for the construction of 565 dwelling units, a drop of 1.2% compared with November 2011.
In January – November 2012, building permits fell by 3.5% over the year earlier period to 6,701.
The total value of these permits decreased by 19.6% and the total area by 30.9%.
Τhe number of dwelling units recorded a decrease of 33.8%.
