Cyprus Trade deficit drops in Jan 2012 compared to 2011

Cyprus' trade deficit reached in January 2012 326,3 million euro, compared to 372,4mn in the corresponding month of 2011, recording a decrease of 46,1 mn.

Cyprus' total imports/arrivals in January 2012 recorded a decrease of 49.6 million euro compared to January 2011.

According to a press release issued by the Statistical Service of Cyprus, total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) in January 2012 amounted to 418,9mn as compared to 468,5mn in January 2011.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States) in January 2012 were 92,6mn compared to 96,1mn in January 2011.

The trade deficit was 326,3mn in January 2012 compared to 372,4mn in the corresponding month of 2011.

Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, were 43,1mn whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were 49,5mn.
