February unemployment 9.7% in Cyprus

Unemployment in Cyprus in February reached 9.7% of the active population from 9.5% in January, according to Eurostat figures, which indicated a record high for the Eurozone.

The average unemployment rate in the Eurozone rose to 10.8% from 10.7% in January, while for the whole of the EU unemployment was 10.2%.

In Cyprus, unemployment among men in February was 10.6% and women 8.6%, with young persons under 25 years of age standing at 26.8%, according to December data.
