Tequila production could be requlated under new legislation

A group of NGOs, farmers and Mexican scientists warned of `imminent` extinction of hundreds of crafted beverage producers if a new regulation that seeks to distinguish the origin beverages made from the agave plant from those manufactured based on its derivatives were to come into effect.
