Cyprus industrial output dropped 9.5% in October

Industrial production dived in October, falling by 9.5% compared with October 2010.
Manufacturing output in the same period fell by 8.6%.
For the period January – October 2011, the production index recorded a decrease of 6.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The latest data on turnover paint a similar picture. The industrial turnover index reached 135.1 in September 2011 (base 2005=100), recording a decrease of 6.9% compared with September 2010. For manufacturing, the turnover index for September 2011 reached 115.2 units. recording a decrease of 9.1% compared with September 2010.
For the period January-September 2011 the turnover index recorded a decrease of 0.5% compared with the same period of the previous year.
As regards prices, industrial output prices fell by 0.2% compared with the year earlier in October 2011, while manufacturing prices rose by 0.1%.
For the period January-November 2011, the price index increased by 4.9% over the same period of 2010.
