KEVE elects new chairman

Pheidias Pilides is the new chairman of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KEVE), succeeding Manthos Mavromatis.

Mavrommatis has completed two terms as chairman and cannot seek re-election to the post, according to KEVE charter.

The new chairman was elected yesterday, at KEVE AGM. Pilides received 53 votes and his opponent Tony Antoniou received 51. There was also a blank vote.

The new KEVE’s Chairman was elected by an electoral body composed of 105 electors from the five districts (24 from Nicosia, 21 from Limassol and 20 from the each of the districts of Famagusta, Larnaca and Paphos).
