Travel abroad from Cyprus drops in July

The number of trips by residents abroad fell in July according to the Passengers Survey by 2.5%, to 135,397 compared with 138,801 in July 2010.
This was after an increase of 1.2% in June but a drop of 7.8% in May.
There was a fall of 1.9% in the number of trips to the most popular country, Greece, to 52,321 in July 2011 from 53,356 in July 2010.
On the other hand trips to the UK increased by 4.6% to 30,441.
Trips to Egypt, Lebanon and Syria saw steep declines.
