Cyprus retail trade slows in May

Retail trade growth slowed in May according to provisional data, rising by 0.4% compared with May 2010. Revised data for April show an increase of 5.8% compared with April 2010.
For the period January-May 2011 retail sales are provisionally estimated to have increased by 0.8% compared with the corresponding period of 2010.
In value terms, the retail value index (excluding automotive fuel) in June rose by a provisional 3.3% compared with June 2010.
For the period January-May 2011 the value index is provisionally estimated to have increased by 5.4%.
