Cyprus outbound tourism starts to drop

After several years of strong growth, outbound tourism looks like it is beginning to decline.
In March the number of residents returning from a trip abroad fell by 24% to 80,388, compared with 105,805 in the corresponding month of 2009.
This was after a fall of 2.4% in February and an increase of 6.3% in January.
There was a decrease of 36.7% in the trips of residents to Greece (24,457 in March 2011 compared with 38,664 in March 2010.
There was also a similar fall of 36.5% in the number of trips to the United Kingdom (to 20,127 compared with 31,681 in March 2010).
