New direct flights from Larnaka to London and Paris as well as six destinations in Greece were announced Tuesday by Aegean Airlines and Hermes Airports.

Aegean Airlines has been flying from Larnaka to London Heathrow since March 27th on a daily basis. As from June 9th, Aegean will launch direct flights from Larnaka to Paris, one of the largest cultural and business centers of Europe. Flights to Paris will run three times a week, every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

Aegean will also cover six new destinations in Greece with direct flights from Larnaka to Heraklion, Rhodes, Mykonos, Chania, Kos and Santorini. It will also add one more flight to Thessaloniki, thus increasing frequency from three to four flights a week.

''Our decision to establish a base in Cyprus was reached mainly because of the improved facilities and quality of operations at the airport following the creation of the new Larnaka airport'', said in a statement Aegean Vice Chairman Eftychios Vassilakis.

On his part, the CEO of Hermes Airports Alfred van der Meer welcomed the start of flights by Aegean from Larnaka to London and Paris.
