Total sales of petroleum products dropped by 2.8% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year in January – February 2011, possibly because high oil prices are leading to more careful use of fuel.
In February alone, total sales of petroleum products rose by 6.5% compared with the previous month.
A large increase was recorded in the sales of Unleaded Motor Gasoline 98 RON, Gasoil Low Sulphur, Gasoil and Asphalt and in the supplies of Gasoil for marine use.
By contrast, a decrease was recorded in the sales of Aviation Kerosene.
Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of the month recorded a decrease of 12.2% compared to the previous month.
