Aegean Airlines is launching a direct daily flight from Larnaca to London’s Heathrow later this month, following its purchase of airport slots from Olympic Air.
The 168-seat, two-class Airbus A320 that will be based in Cyprus, will be leaving Larnaca at 8.15am and arriving in London at 11.15 local time, with the return flight departing at 12.15 to land in Larnaca at 6.40pm. Indicative prices for a return Saver ticket in Economy start from EUR 282 per person, including taxes.
Earlier this month, Aegean announced that it bought four slots from Olympic at Heathrow and Charles de Gaulle airports, operating two direct flights from Athens to London and from Athens to Paris, while addition flights are operated in cooperation with Star Alliance partner Lufhansa through Germany.
Aegean started flights to Cyprus seven years ago and currently operates four daily flights between Larnaca and Athens, daily flights to Thessaloniki with an additional flight four times a week, and three flights a week to Heraklion in Crete. To date, it has carried 2.5 mln passengers between Greece and Cyprus.
During the peak summer season from June 24 to September 10, the airline will also operate two flights a week to Rhodes and Mykonos and weekly flights to Santorini, Chania and Kos, with good connections to its other hubs in Greece.
Tickets can be booked online on www.aegeanair.com , through the Aegean call centre in Greece on 801 11 20000 or from any travel agent.

Note: an earlier report incorrectly referred to other conditions for the purchase of the London Heathrow airport slots. These were a direct purchase, at as yet an undetermined price.
