Cyprus trade deficit increases in January-August 2010

Cyprus' trade deficit was €3.426,3mn in January-August 2010 compared to €3.087,1mn in the corresponding period of 2009, according to the “Intra-Extra E.U Trade Statistics (Summarised Data)” August 2010 report issued by the Statistical Service.

Total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) in January-August 2010 amounted to €4.135,3mn as compared to €3.728,7mn in January-August 2009. Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States) in January-August 2010 were €709,0mn compared to €641,7mn in January-August 2009.

During August 2010 total imports/arrivals (covering total imports from third countries and arrivals from other Member States) valued at €498,1mn.

Total exports/dispatches (covering total exports to third countries and dispatches to other Member States), including stores and provisions, in August 2010 amounted to €72,4mn. Εxports/dispatches of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions, were €32,4mn whilst exports/dispatches of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, were €40,1mn.
