Tourism arrivals in Cyprus for October mark increase

Tourist arrivals in Cyprus reached 241.698 in October 2010 compared to 230.431 in October 2009, recording an increase of 4,9%.

This was stated during the latest Passengers Survey in tourism arrivals, published on Wednesday by the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus.

An increase of 60,2% was recorded in tourist arrivals from Russia (from 14.131 in October 2009 to 22.637 in October 2010) and a 23,2% increase from Germany (from 16.166 to 19.922 this year).

A decrease of 6,7% was recorded in tourist arrivals from the United Kingdom (107.729 in October 2010 compared to 115.526 in October 2009).

For the period January – October 2010 arrivals of tourists totaled 2.019.154 compared to 1.985.321 in the corresponding period of 2009, recording an increase of 1,7%.
