Garment recycling shop opens in Nicosia

A shop selling new or second hand clothes, arts and crafts made from used garments and other recyclable materials, have opened in the old town of Nicosia, in the framework of a non profit programme by ''Anakyklos Perivallontiki'', which aims at creating a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.

The shop was opened on Saturday by Mayor of Nicosia Eleni Mavrou, who told CNA that the programme was among initiatives with an environmental and social sensitivity. Furthermore, the Nicosia Municipality will be issuing coupons for people in need, to obtain some of the clothes free of charge. The rest of the merchandise will be sold at symbolic prices to cover the costs of the programme.
