TEPAK to host annual conference of Money, Macro and Finance

The Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) will host the 42nd annual conference of Money, Macro and Finance Research Group (MMF), a leading study group, in the southern coastal city of Limassol, between September 1 and 3.

According to a TEPAK announcement, the MMF annual conference is considered to be the biggest gathering of scientists of economics in Europe, with the participation of top economists and Nobel Prize laureates.

In this year’s session, key note speakers will include professor Charles Calomiris from Columbia Business School and professor Marcus Miller from University of Warwick. A special session on monetary policy will be organised and chaired by Central Bank Governor Athanasios Orphanides. The conference will include sessions on topics like applied econometrics, economic growth and contemporary issues of monetary policy.

MMF aims at promoting and disseminating economic research in the monetary and financial fields of study. The group was founded 40 years ago in the UK and is considered today as one of the most credible and dynamic financial study centers in the world.

Conference sessions will be chaired by professor Panicos Demetriades from the University of Leicester and local organizer is professor Andreas Savvides of Cyprus University of Technology.
