Cyprus industrial production down 3% in April

Industrial production fell in April according to the latest figures from the Statistical Service, Cystat.
The index reached 90.2 (base 2005=100), recording a decrease of 3.0% compared with April 2009. At the same time, the manufacturing index in April fell by 7.5% compared with April 2009.
For the period January – April 2010 the index recorded a decrease of 1.3% compared with the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, output prices have been increasing.
Cystat reported that the industrial output prices index for May 2010 reached 123.1 (base 2005=100). recording an increase of 1.9% compared with April 2010. The manufacturing price index rose by 0.2% in the same period.
For the period January-May 2010 the prices index showed an increase of 2.6% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
