Cyprus’s economy returned to a 0.1% growth in the first quarter

Cyprus's economy returned to a 0.1 percent growth in the first quarter of 2010 on a quarterly basis compared to a 0.3 percent contraction in the fourth quarter of 2009, the statistics department said on Wednesday.

The figures were revised from a 0.2 percent contraction in the first quarter that the statistics department had shown in a flash estimate issued on May 12.

Real GDP declined by 1.6 percent year-on-year compared to a 2.9 percent contraction in the fourth quarter of 2009.
