Cyprus petroleum sales down 5% in 2009

The Statistical Service reported that total sales of petroleum products in 2009 recorded a decrease of 5.0% compared to the previous year.
A significant decline was observed in the sales of Heavy Fuel Oil (-19.2%), the provisions of Gasoil to ships (-17.1%), Aviation Kerosene (-7.0%), Gasoil (-5.9%) and Gasoil Low Sulphur (-4.7%).
Sales of Unleaded Motor Gasoline recorded an increase (2.9%).
The stocks of petroleum products at the end of 2009 recorded a decrease of 16% compared to the end of the year 2008.
Meanwhile, the total sales of petroleum products in December 2009 recorded an increase of 12.8% compared to the previous month.
A significant rise was observed in the sales of Kerosene, Gasoil, Asphalt and Liquefied Petroleum Gas, while a considerable decrease was recorded in the sales of Aviation Kerosene.
