The Royiatiko Hotel in old Nicosia is the latest addition to efforts to revive the within-the-walls part of town. The owners, Yiota Georgiou and her father Yiannakis, invested 9 mln euros to build the hotel from scratch, resulting in levels of luxury in all 32 rooms, with comfort being the primary goal such as secure door systems, leather and wooden furniture all round, flat screens in all rooms and free WiFi.
The hotel has basement parking for its residents, a gym, a bar and dining area and an outdoor swimming pool, transforming the Royiatiko into an oasis during the warmer summer months.
It rises three floors on Apollonos street, a stone’s throw away from Ledra and Regaena streets and will be catering mainly to business people visiting the capital for work, as well as short-stay tourists who want to be in the centre of town and easily reach all the historical sites and other attractions, saving on taxi and bus fares, according to the hotel’s experienced new manager, Demetris Demetriou.
Room rates start from 118 euros with breakfast. Some rooms have disabled access and facilities. For information call 22 445445
