Cyprus construction output drops by 10% in Q3–UPDATE

Production in the construction sector of Cyprus fell for the fourth consecutive quarter in July to September, dropping by 10% compared with the same period of the previous year, having fallen by 10.5% in the second.
For the period January – September 2009, the index recorded a decrease of 9.8% over the corresponding period of the previous year.
The production index is now published with a new base year (2005=100) and is calculated using a new sample of enterprises, with changes in the relative weights of the various types of projects in total construction.
Meanwhile, output prices in construction fell by 0.9% compared with the previous period in the third quarter.
Compared to the same quarter last year, the index recorded a decrease of 5.6%.
