Minister of Health Christos Patsalides has said he was satisfied with the free vaccination programme launched late November by the government of Cyprus against the H1N1 virus.

“The Ministry is satisfied with the way the vaccination programme is progressing. Our goal is to protect the high risk groups and we began creating a safety net around those groups”, he said.

The Minister warned that lower temperatures during winter will worsen the situation, since more H1N1 flu cases, as well as seasonal flu cases, are expected.

Patsalides pointed out that the Ministry follows developments and takes all necessary measures with regard to the flu.
