Cyprus industrial production drops 8.9% in September

Industrial production continued its decline in September, as the index of industrial production reached 105.2 (base 2005=100), recording a decrease of 8.9% compared to September 2008.
In August the production index had dropped by 5.2%.
For the period January – September 2009, industrial production fell by 8.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Within the industrial production total, manufacturing fell by 13.0% year on year in September and by 11.7% in the first nine months.
Meanwhile, the industrial output prices index reached 119.7 in October, units (base 2005=100), the same level as September 2009.
For the period January-October 2009, the prices index recorded a decrease of 1.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The manufacturing prices index for October 2009 rose by 0.1% compared to September 2009.
