CSE holds 2nd Annual Cyprus Conference in London

British institutional investors have expressed their interest in the Cyprus capital market and economy, during the road show the Cyprus Stock Exchange held in the United Kingdom

According to an announcement issued today by the CSE, the road show was carried out on Thursday, September 17, 2009 within the framework of the 2nd Annual Cyprus Conference in cooperation with Citigroup. It was attended by the CSE Chairman and General Manager G. Koufaris and Nontas Metaxas, as well as by representatives of the three listed Cypriot banks.

During the road show, representatives from the three Cypriot banks, Bank of Cyprus, Marfin Popular Bank and Hellenic Bank, had private meetings with foreign institutional investors and company representatives, whom they informed on their business plans.
The representatives of the Cypriot banks hold 27 meetings with almost 20 institutional investors.

During the contacts, the institutional investors expressed their interest in the economic and business environment of Cyprus and the course and development plans of the CSE-listed companies.

On Friday, September 18, the CSE made a presentation to the businessmen of the Cypriot community in the UK.

During the event, CSE General Manager informed the businessmen on the new CSE plans, with special emphasis on the New Market, in which the attendants expressed their interest.

The presentation was attended, among others, by the High Commissioner of Cyprus in Britain, Alexandros Zenon, the Commercial Attach?, Giorgos Argyris, the Chairman of the National Cypriot Federation of the UK, Peter Drousiotis, the Chairman of the World Federation of Cypriot Emigrants, Charis Sophokleides.

The CSE road shows in London fall under the plan of its broader initiatives aiming at promoting the Cyprus capital market abroad and briefing the foreign investors on the future prospects of the CSE.
