Cyprus Larnaka Airport’s first operational trial completed successfully

Larnaka International Airport’s first operational trial was completed successfully Hermes Airports, which manages the airports in Cyprus, announced.

According to a press release issued here today by the company, this trial, in which new systems and procedures were assessed, saw 200 “fake passengers” participate giving staff the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new technology in real life situations and tested the coordination between the many different services and departments.

A further six trials will follow up until the official inauguration ceremony in which a total of 3.500 people are expected to take part, it adds.

It, also, says that upon completion of each trial, the responsible committee will record and evaluate the data to determine the correctional measures that must be taken.

Hermes Airports wishes to express its warm appreciation towards the hundreds of volunteers who are participating in the trials and also its satisfaction at the initial results of this process, the press release concludes.
