APOEL of Nicosia has qualified for the Champions League groups, following a 3-1 win over Copenhagen on Wednesday evening.

APOEL managed to overturn the 1-0 loss over Copenhagen in the first match in Denmark and became the second Cypriot team to qualify for the Champions League groups (the first was FC Anorthosis of Famagusta, which qualified last year).

In a full house 22,000 home fans created a noisy atmosphere at the GSP stadium, in the hope that APOEL could achieve a landmark victory by reaching the next phase in a contest billed as the club's most important in its 83-year history.

Jubilant APOEL fans and football fans poured into the streets after the match to celebrate the team’s impressive victory. Today's dailies use banner headlines to mark the occasion.

Attention now turns to today’s draw in Monaco where APOEL will find out the teams it will face at the Champions League groups.
