Cyprus industrial turnover down 10.8% in April

The industrial turnover index of Cyprus is provisionally estimated to have reached 115.2 (base 2005=100) in April, recording a decrease of 10.8% compared with April 2008.
For the period January-April 2009, the index recorded a decrease of 8.3% compared with the same period of the previous year. Industrial production in the same period fell by 9.5%.
For Manufacturing, the index for April 2009 reached 116.6, recording a decrease of 9.5% compared to April 2008.
From January 2009, the industrial turnover index is published with a new base year (2005=100) and the new version of the statistical classification of economic activities, NACE Rev. 2.
