Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Thursday said Beijing believed giving developing nations more weight in global financial bodies would be a key element of the G20 summit in Pittsburgh in September.

"We believe the focus of this meeting to come is to further revamp the international financial institutions so developing countries have a bigger say and better representation at international financial organisations," Yang told reporters on the sidelines of a regional meeting in the Thai resort of Phuket.

"More help especially in trade finance should be given to developing countries so that they will be able to combat the bad impact of the financial crisis."
