Cyprus construction materials prices fall 1.7% in first half

The Price Index of Construction Materials for June 2009 reached 117.20 in June 2009 (base year 2005=100.00), recording an increase of 0.23% over the previous month.
For the period January – June 2009, the index recorded a fall of 1.69% over the corresponding period of the previous year.
Within the subcategories, the prices of metallic products fell the most, by 12.59% compared with January to June 2008.
Prices of electromechanical products fell in the same period by 2.74%.
All other categories of materials rose in the first six months.
Prices of minerals rose the most, by 4.37%, followed by mineral products (4.15%) and wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics products (3.27%).
