Salamis buys new cruise liner for Cyprus

Salamis Tours (Holdings) Public Ltd has bought the cruise ship “Van Gogh” for the sum of $7.5 mln, financed from existing cash reserves without resorting to new borrowing.
The purchase is the most significant renewal of the Group’s fleet and is expected to strengthen its presence in the cruises sector. It will replace Salamis Glory in the future and will enhance the cruise product offered.
Van Gogh has nine decks, weighs 15,400 tons, is 157 meters long and has a width of 22 meters. It was built in Finland in 1975 and completely refurbished in 1999. It can take up to 800 passengers in luxury suites and spacious cabins of various categories. All cabins are above sea level and most have modern facilities.
The public service areas include spacious saloons, five bars, disco, 140-seat cinema 140 also suitable for conferences, swimming pool for adults and children, casino, duty free shops, gym, sauna and playground. The open decks are ideal for relaxing walks, sport and leisure activities.
